In what was a first in the world decision of its kind, the Tsilhqot’in people were granted land title to their traditional territory in a historic Supreme Court of Canada ruling. The court case was before the Supreme Court for over 30 years. Tsi Del Del Enterprises has operated in this area since the company’s inception in 1992. It is owned and operated by the Tsi Del Del First Nation, who themselves are part of the six First Nations communities that make up the Tsilhqot’in Nation. Tsi Del Del are Tsilhqot’in words, ‘tsi’ meaning stone and ‘deldel’ which means the colour red. The community and reserve share this name Redstone. Below is a map which you can view to see the title lands and learn the traditional names of all the lakes, rivers, and areas within the Tsilqot’in land.
